GOALS / FOCUS
“Keep working towards your goals. It’s really important to have goals. Set up goals early in the year, whether it comes to golf or school. Just have goals, something that guide you and move you forward.”
“What really worked for me is obviously enjoying what you’re doing, having fun and being motivated and energized every day. It’s a lot about discipline, working hard, being focused, learning how to set goals. By just having a passion for it, a passion to constantly be better. I always set goals so I know what I need to improve on.”
“Find something you enjoy and make it a passion whether it’s a hobby or a job. I think it’s important to feel like when you wake up in the morning, you have something to look forward to. Also having that purpose, feeling purposeful about how and what you spend your time on is very important.”
“We have to live in the present, more in the now. Sometimes, I get a little bit ahead of myself because I was confident, I was performing, I felt good about my game, or maybe I loved the golf course. But all those factors in my head kept me from playing golf in the present. That’s when I realized that this game is very humbling, you have to take every tournament as it comes, hit one shot at a time, and try not to take things for granted.”
“My number one goal is to always be a better player. And I'm always looking for ways to get better. No matter my accomplishments, I believe inside that I can still be a better player.”
“Another important element to personal growth is goal setting. Learn how to set them, both short term and long term. Don’t limit yourself! Think bigger and better. I am a true believer that I was able to shoot 59 in 2001 because I’ve believed since my amateur days that I can birdie every hole in a round.”
“My number one goal is to always be a better player. And I'm always looking for ways to get better. No matter my accomplishments, I believe inside that I can still be a better player.”
“To this day, I’m constantly seeking to improve in both my personal and professional lives. It’s really an eternal battle. My Dad once said, 'Annika, there are no short cuts to success.' However, it is possible to reach all your goals if you practice patience, focus and determination. Follow your life’s plan and create a new you by pursuing a purposeful and a fulfilling existence.”
