Lake Elmo, MN. – Round one of the sixth ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M is in the books. Wake Forest sits in the lead after shooting 6-under-par, 282. Pacing the Deacs and leading the individual competition is freshman Rachel Kuehn. Kuehn, who participated in the ANNIKA Invitational USA presented by Rolex in January, carded a bogey-free 5-under-par.
Three players enter the second round one stroke back, including Kajal Mistry (Arkansas), Alessandra Fanali (Arizona State) and Vivian Hou (Arizona). Fanali started off her round hot, going 6-under through 7 holes, including a hole-in-one on the par 3 No. 16.
Sitting one stroke back in the team competition is Arkansas followed by Arizona who carded 3-under-par.
Following the round, players and coaches are attending the Minnesota Twins game at Target field. Joining the group is 2019 ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel winner Maria Fassi. The former Razborback will be recognized for her Player of the Year achievement with a presentation by Annika before the game. In addition, reigning ANNIKA Intercollegiate champions and Annika are singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during the 7th inning stretch.
