ANNIKA Invitational Australasia Cancelled

The 2020 ANNIKA Invitational Australasia has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The second edition of the event was due to take place in New Zealand from November 12-14 at the Royal Wellington Golf Club in Wellington. It will next be played from November 11-13, 2021 at the same venue.

Dean Murphy, Chief Executive on New Zealand Golf said, “There’s a large amount of planning and international travel associated with this event and with the huge uncertainty of our international borders as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided it would not be appropriate to stage the championship this year.

“We would like to thank the ANNIKA Foundation and Royal Wellington Golf Club for its support and understanding in making this decision and we will now look forward to working with the club and the ANNIKA Foundation to stage the championship for the Asia Pacific’s top junior women amateur golfers next year.”

“While we’re disappointed to have to cancel another of our Foundation tournaments, these are unprecedented times and the safety and well-being of everyone involved with the event is our primary concern,” says Annika. “New Zealand Golf and Royal Wellington are wonderful partners and we can’t wait to return to continue our mission of supporting the growth of girls golf in the Asia Pacific region.”
