Nora Sundberg, 16 years old, from Stockholm Golf Club is in command ahead of the third and final round of ANNIKA Invitational Europe at Isaberg Golf Club – and Mathilda Orring trails by three strokes.
Stockholm’s Nora Sundberg fired a second round 69 on the scenic western course at Isaberg Golf Club, where the wind gusted significantly less than day one. Mathilda Orring from the neighboring Djursholm Golf Club is three strokes behind at 4-over-par.
”I played well and solidly, and hit a lot of fairways and greens. That was good," said Nora Sundberg, who finished fourth in the German Girls Open just two weeks ago.
Sundberg learned to conquer nerves the day before when she was asked to hit shots with Annika during her clinic in front of over 100 people. ”I was really nervous, actually shaking. It was really inspiring to hit wedges together with Annika – and see how straight and good she hits the ball.”
When asked about her future, it seems that Sundberg has a solid plan for her future on the golf course. ”After finishing high school, I'm going to apply to college in the United States and then try to qualify for the Symetra Tour, and finally try to make it to the LPGA Tour.”
Annika was on site throughout the day doing media and taking in the action. In the evening, the girls were treated to a tournament dinner at the course with Annika and some local musical talent to celebrate our final night together.
