In 2016, The ANNIKA Foundation partnered with The R&A to establish the ANNIKA Invitational Latin America, the fourth event in the ANNIKA Invitational series of global events.
The first three editions of the event were contested in Argentina in cooperation with the Argentine Golf Association. In 2019, the event moved to Uruguay for the first time. Each year, the top-three finishers received invites to the ANNIKA Invitational USA presented by Rolex at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla.
In 2020, The ANNIKA Foundation continued to work with The R&A in growing the game in Latin America with the announcement of the Women’s Amateur Latin America championship. The event debuted in November of 2021 at Pilar Golf Club in Buenos Aires. The tournament welcomes the region’s most talented golfers and provides the opportunity to earn exemptions into the AIG Women’s British Open, The Amundi Evian Championship and The Chevron Championship.
“This is an incredibly exciting elevation of the ANNIKA Foundation’s partnership with The R&A and marks a major milestone for our global circuit of girls’ golf championships.” Says Annika. “This is a big deal for golf in Latin America and we’re honored to be a part of it.”
